Cozy Mornings Mugs in Watercolor

Hello Crafty Friends!

I’m so excited to share this card with you today! I had such a fun time creating this clean and simple design using just a mug image and a few (neglected) watercolor paints. Sometimes simple really is the best.

For the background, I repeatedly stamped the mug from the Cozy Mornings stamp set (part of the upcoming Altenew Cozy Comfort Retreat) onto watercolor paper using Obsidian ink. Once that was dry, I pulled out my watercolors and started adding color—mixing in shades of yellow, orange, and pink. While the paint was still wet, I added a second color along the left side of each mug and let the watercolor do its thing. I love how the colors blended together naturally and gave each mug a soft, cozy look.

To finish, I mounted the watercolor panel onto a card base and added a simple sentiment on a strip of colored cardstock. Quick, clean, and cheerful!

I really enjoyed the process of making this card and I’ll definitely be reaching for my watercolors more often in future projects.

Happy Stamping!
Lisa

Supplies Used:

I included the Mijello Watercolor set that I used, but also linked the Altenew Watercolor Pan Set which is a great option also.
