Craftoween: A Dapper Crow

Day 2 of the Spellbinders Craftoween Box brings a delightfully spooky project! For this card, I featured the dapper crow and skull die set — and gave it a hauntingly elegant twist with added texture and shading.

The background was created with the Spellbinders Oak Forest 3D Embossing Folder. I embossed a piece of lavender cardstock, then added Altenew Silver Stone ink over the raised areas and edges to highlight the design. This simple step instantly transformed the background into something dark and mysterious — perfect for Halloween!

The die-cut crow perches proudly on the skull, dressed up with a little top hat and bow tie. The sentiment, “Hope your Halloween is to die for,” finishes the look with just the right amount of spooky charm.

Creating this card:

  • Emboss lavender cardstock using Spellbinders Oak Forest 3D Embossing Folder.

  • Lightly blend Silver Stone ink over the raised design and around the edges for a smoky effect.

  • Die cut the crow, skull, and accessories from the Spellbinders Craftoween Box – Day 2 set.

  • Assemble and adhere the die cuts to the card front.

  • Stamp the sentiment below the image.

  • Mount the finished panel onto a coordinating card base.

This project combines playful Halloween imagery with elegant texture and inking—perfect for sending a “to die for” Halloween greeting!  To see more projects using the Craftoween box, visit me on Instagram to follow the Craftween 2025 Instagram Hop.  We will be sharing our projects on every odd number days until Halloween.
