Old Friends

Hello Stamping Friends!

One of my favorite pieces from the Silly Old Bear Designer Series Paper is this adorable image of Pooh wearing his little blue kerchief. It's such a sweet illustration that I knew I wanted it to be the star of a card. At first glance, large-scale patterned paper can seem difficult to use on an A2 card because the images often feel too big or crowded for the space. But with a simple trick, those beautiful prints become perfect focal points for quick and easy cards.

Instead of trying to use the entire sheet, I look for one section that I love and trim it down.  By isolating a single character or scene, the artwork instantly becomes the centerpiece of the design. For this card, I layered the DSP with coordinating cardstock, added a subtle patterned background to complement the focal panel, and tied everything together with a Hydrangea Hue ribbon. The layers frame the artwork without competing with it, allowing Pooh to take center stage.

The next time you have a sheet of Designer Series Paper with oversized images, don't be afraid to cut into it! Those larger prints are filled with beautiful details that deserve to be showcased. Simply choose your favorite section, add a few coordinating layers, and you'll have a charming handmade card in just minutes. Sometimes the easiest designs are the ones that let the paper do all the work.

Happy Stamping!
