Blooming Beauty: Floral Stamps & Plaid Backgrounds

When we think of floral stamped images, our first instinct is often to grab our favorite coloring tools—blends, markers, pencils—you name it! But did you know that not all floral images need to be colored? Sometimes, a simple stamped outline can be just as striking, adding elegance and charm without any extra steps.

For this card, I paired a bold floral outline with a classic plaid background. The contrast between the structured pattern and the delicate flower creates a beautiful, eye-catching effect. The best part? It’s quick and easy to recreate!

To create this look, simply:

  1. Stamp a floral image in a rich ink color on cardstock—I used Pecan Pie ink on Very Vanilla cardstock for a warm, vintage feel.
  2. Use a blending brush to softly apply Pecan Pie ink around the edges of the cardstock, creating an aged, distressed effect.
  3. Add a plaid background with designer paper or a stamped pattern to enhance the classic look.
  4. Finish with a sentiment and embellishments for a polished design!
