Simple Elegance with Mixed Florals: Cone Flower Card

There’s something so delightful about a handmade card, especially when it features the timeless beauty of a cone flower! Today, I’m excited to share this elegant card created with the Mixed Florals stamp set. I wanted to keep the colors soft and delicate, so I used the light marker of each Stampin’ Blends duo to achieve a gentle, watercolor-like effect. The result? A beautifully understated design perfect for sending a little sunshine to someone special!

Coloring Tips for a Soft, Delicate Look

To maintain that soft and elegant feel, I chose the light marker from each duo in the Stampin’ Blends collection. This approach allows for a subtle wash of color without overpowering the delicate details of the stamped image. Here are a few tips to help you achieve a similar look:

  1. Start Light: Begin with the lightest shade and gradually build color. It’s easier to add more color than to take it away!
  2. Feathering Technique: Use small, feather-like strokes to blend the color seamlessly. This technique helps create a more natural, organic look.
  3. Leave Some White Space: Letting a bit of the white cardstock peek through adds to the soft, airy feel of the design.

Die-Cutting Tip: Easily Remove Intricate Dies

Working with intricate dies can be a bit tricky, but here’s a game-changing tipPlace a sheet of wax paper between the die and your cardstock before running it through your die-cutting machine. This simple trick makes it so much easier to remove the cardstock from the die without tearing any delicate details!
