Wishing Lots of Love
I have been in a bit of a crafting slump for about a week. Today though, I was inspired by the latest Freshly Made Sketches challenge, and I couldn’t resist creating this soft and elegant card using the Delightful Wishes Bundle. With spring right around the corner, I wanted to capture the fresh and cheerful essence of blooming flowers while keeping a clean and simple design.
Creating the Floral Elements
To bring this card to life, I started with Daffodil Delight flowers. Instead of stamping the base floral image, I added depth by blending ink onto the paper first. Using a Blending Brush, I softly applied Daffodil Delight ink to create a subtle background before stamping the flower details on top. This technique adds a natural, dimensional look to the petals. Once stamped, I used the coordinating dies to cut out the flowers effortlessly.
Assembling the Branch & Sentiment
The Delightful Wishes Dies include a delicate flower branch and sentiment that can be a little tricky to adhere. That’s where Adhesive Sheets became a game changer! By applying an Adhesive Sheet to the back of my cardstock before die-cutting, I transformed my intricate die cut into a sticker, making placement easy and mess-free.
For the sentiment, I layered “wishing” in Early Espresso for contrast and stamped “lots of love” underneath. The combination of script and simple lettering adds a beautiful touch to the design without overpowering the florals.
Finishing Touches
To complete the card, I added a soft Pool Party ink-blended background to enhance the airy feel. A few embellishments, like subtle rhinestones, add a hint of sparkle without distracting from the main design. The card base is layered with coordinating Early Espresso and Pool Party layers to tie everything together.
Happy stamping!
