Sea Shells in the Fresh Air
This week’s This or That Instagram hop theme is Fresh Fruit or Fresh Air—and I’m proudly team Fresh Air! There’s something about the sound of waves and the fresh breeze that always inspires me, so I created a beach-themed card that brings those peaceful coastal vibes to life.
For my card, I used the Seashell Die-n-Stencil set from Waffle Flower. I love this set because the coordinating stencil makes it so easy to add beautiful shading and depth to the die-etched images. I used small blending brushes to softly blend ink over each shell and starfish, which helped highlight all the tiny details.
The background turned out so vibrant and full of texture that I didn’t want to cover it up. I decided to keep the sentiment simple with a die-cut “Just a note” layered in bold dark cardstock with a vellum shadow. A few clear sequins finish off the card with a little sparkle—just like sunlight catching the waves.
You can find the full supply list below if you'd like to recreate this look!
