Merry Christmas Deer - Christmas in July

Hi Crafty Friends!

I’m excited to share a card I created using the beautiful new Merry Christmas Deer Cover Die from Brass & Bliss! As soon as I saw this die, I knew it would be perfect for this week’s Just Add Ink “Christmas in July” challenge.

To begin, I die cut the main panel from white cardstock (I used my go-to from Concord & 9th). Then, I cut just the sentiment portion from a dark blue glitter paper. To inlay the glittery letters into the main panel, I used Scotch tape on the back to keep everything secure—easy and effective!

My favorite part was creating the blended background. I used a large 2" blending brush to apply four shades of blue ink, concentrating the darkest tones at the top and edges for a wintry ombré effect. Once I was happy with the blend, I added some splatters using Pure White Ink Spray for a snowy, textured finish.

To complete the card, I adhered the die-cut panel to the ink-blended background using foam tape for added dimension and popped on a few embellishments for a festive finishing touch.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope this inspires you to start on your own Christmas in July creations.

Happy crafting!
