Dear Friend Card
Hello Crafty Friends!
Today I’m sharing a cozy little card that feels like sitting down with a warm drink and catching up with a dear friend.
This project features dies from Altenew’s recent Cozy Comfort Retreat. I love how versatile these dies are—perfect for creating seasonal projects, but also timeless enough to use all year long.
For the color palette, I drew inspiration from a cardstock assortment that I rediscovered while sorting through my supplies. Isn’t it fun when you stumble upon something tucked away and it sparks new ideas? The soft peach, mustard, and light blue tones give this card such a warm, welcoming vibe.
Creating this card:
This is card is based on one of the retreat class projects, with a few of my own touches.
I started with a simple textured background for subtle detail.
The mug dies were cut from my rediscovered cardstock stash and pieced together to give each cup its cozy, layered look.
To connect the elements, I trimmed down the shelf die, to fit the elements I used.
The sentiment “dear friend” was cut and layered for dimension, then accented with a few soft leafy sprigs.
The result is a cheerful card that feels perfect for sending to someone special—just like sharing a cup of coffee or tea through the mail.
I hope this inspires you to take another look at supplies you may already have tucked away—you never know what hidden gems might spark your next project!
