Spellbinders Advent Day 2

Hello Crafty Friends!

Day 2 of the Spellbinders Advent Calendar brought out such a charming little image, and I knew right away I wanted to do something a bit different with it. Instead of reaching for my markers or pencils, I went digging through my stash and found a watercolor wash background I created a few months ago. The soft blends of color felt perfect for a magical woodland vibe, so I stamped the image directly onto the wash and fussy cut it out for a clean, artistic look.

To add just a touch of shimmer, I pulled out my Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan Set from Altenew. A light layer brushed over the mushrooms and florals brought everything to life and gave the whole piece a subtle sparkle—just enough to catch the light without overwhelming the design. It’s amazing how a little metallic sheen can completely elevate a simple stamped image.

Once everything was ready, I adhered the piece to a clean card front with foam tape and added the sentiment underneath. I love how soft and enchanted this card feels, and it was a great reminder that those leftover watercolor panels we all hang on to can be perfect for quick, beautiful projects. Day 2 was definitely a magical one, and I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Happy Crafting!
