Mini Slimline Boardwalk Fun

 

Hello Crafty Friends!

This playful birthday card came together with the Boardwalk Fun Bundle from Stampin’ Up! and instantly put me in a summer state of mind. I love how the boardwalk imagery feels nostalgic and fun at the same time—perfect for birthdays and celebrations of all kinds. The images were stamped in Secret Sea ink, which gives a bold, clean silhouette that really anchors the design.

For the background, I reached for ink blending to create a soft, sunny sky effect. A blend of Lemon Lime Twist, Balmy Blue, Pretty in Pink, and Lemon Lolly creates a light, cheerful gradient that feels warm and breezy without overpowering the stamped images. Ink blending is one of my favorite ways to add color and atmosphere while keeping the card flat and mailable.

To finish it off, the sentiment was stamped and die cut using a ticket-style die, adding a fun detail that ties in perfectly with the boardwalk theme. Little touches like shaped sentiments are an easy way to add interest and dimension without a lot of extra layers. This card is a great reminder that a simple layout, strong imagery, and happy color choices can do all the heavy lifting.
