Petals and Words of Beauty
Hello Stamping Friends!
There’s something about a bright yellow card that just feels like sunshine on paper! For this project, I used the Petals of Beauty stamp set to create an all-over floral background in three different shades of yellow: Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lolly and Crushed Curry. Mixing lighter and deeper tones adds instant dimension while keeping the design cohesive. Once my pattern was complete, I die cut the panel with the Textured Notes dies for that subtle stitched detail around the edges. The “just because” sentiment was stamped and die cut using the Words of Beauty Bundle, then layered over a background embossed with the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder for soft, structured texture. A few Pearls of Beauty embellishments were the perfect finishing touch.
If you’ve ever wanted to try stamping your own all-over pattern, here are a few tips that make it easier and more balanced. Choose images in a variety of sizes to create visual interest. Start with your largest image first and stamp it randomly around the panel, then move to medium images, and finish with the smallest stamps to fill in open areas. Try stamping like images in loose triangles rather than lining them up horizontally or vertically—this keeps the pattern looking natural and organic. And here’s my biggest tip: don’t overdo it. When you find yourself hunting for the next tiny empty spot, you’re probably finished!
I love how relaxing this kind of stamping can be. There’s no strict layout to follow—just ink, stamps, and a little creativity. Playing with different shades of one color keeps the design cohesive while still adding depth. This “just because” card would brighten anyone’s day, and it’s a great reminder that sometimes the simplest techniques create the most beautiful results.
This card was created for the Just One Color Instagram Hop, where we’re celebrating the beauty of designing with a single hue. It’s always amazing to see how much variety and creativity can come from focusing on just one color! Be sure to head over to my Instagram to check out all the inspiration from the rest of the hop.
