Always in My Heart for Freshly Made Sketches

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today I’m sharing a sweet and simple card inspired by the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I love how a good sketch takes the guesswork out of designing and still leaves plenty of room for creativity. This layout, with its strong central panel and horizontal accent, was the perfect starting point for showcasing some of the adorable elements I’ve been collecting.

All of the pieces on this card come from Stampin’ Up!’s 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar, and I had so much fun mixing them together!  The focal image was created using the stencils included in the kit. I then die cut it with the Everyday Arches Dies and layered it onto a soft blue arched piece to help draw the eye inward. To finish the layout, I added a coordinating patterned strip across the center, which grounds the design and ties everything together beautifully.

To add a bit of charm and dimension, I layered in some of the die cuts from the kit, including that sweet little bird and a sentiment banner. A touch of twine gives it a cozy, handmade feel, and I couldn’t resist finishing it off with a few gold butterfly embellishments for just the right amount of sparkle. It’s amazing how these small details can elevate a simple card!

This project is a great reminder that you don’t need a lot of supplies to create something beautiful—just a fun sketch and a curated collection of pieces ready to play with. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I hope this inspires you to pull out your crafting goodies and give this sketch a try!

Happy Stampin'
