ICS Blog Hop: Fabulous Folders
Hello Crafty Friends!
Welcome to the Inspire Create Share Blog Hop! This month we're celebrating one of my favorite cardmaking tools—embossing folders. If you've followed me for any length of time, you know how much I love adding texture to my projects, and embossing folders are one of the quickest ways to do it. For today's card, I reached for the Ladybug Picnic 3D Embossing Folder from the Homemade Sweetness Suite Collection and decided to use it in a slightly unexpected way.
Instead of embossing the card background, I used the folder to add texture directly to the large mason jar on my focal panel. The tiny raised ladybugs create such a sweet detail and tie in perfectly with the berry theme of the card. It's a fun reminder that embossing folders aren't just for backgrounds—they can also add interest and dimension to focal images and die-cut elements.
After embossing the jar, I wanted the texture to stand out just a little more, so I lightly rolled my ink brayer over the surface using Barely Blush ink. This subtle technique adds color only to the raised areas, allowing the embossed design to become more visible without overwhelming the project. I absolutely love the soft, delicate effect it created and how it adds another layer of interest to this sweet "Love You Berry Much" card. Sometimes the simplest techniques make the biggest impact!
